A five year old timing himself on the Trinomial Cube

This five year old sets his own personal challenges – putting the trinomial cube together correctly whilst timing himself. Note that this type of challenge is created by the child not the educator – we were there to observe it happening and see his enjoyment!

Starting with the largest cube always seems logical

And build the base layer

The base layer in place! This forms the template for the two successive layers

Of course an expert can tackle this in many ways!

The correctly completed trinomial cube – with timers!
